![]() Link Building If you're looking to get that awesome free, organic traffic to your website, then one activity you need to get going on is link building. They say content is king but if that's true then links are certainly the queen. It's nearly impossible to get good search engine rankings without them (unless you're in a niche with no competition.) So how does one go about link building? Well, there are a variety of activities you can work with that will either directly or indirectly build links to your website. Direct For direct link building you can write articles, submit your website to directories, submit your blog's RSS feed, do podcasts, create videos, submit press releases, and even post on forums. While some links are worth more than others it's important to start getting them ASAP if you want to see your site shoot up in the rankings. Indirect With indirect link building you're creating content or applications that will have people freely giving you links. For example, if you write an article that makes it to the front page of Digg.com, you can usually count on an influx of super high quality links to follow. And that's the real value of getting on the front page of Digg - the traffic you'll get from the site is actually extremely low quality. This is a process called linkbaiting. Want to learn more?
